Swapnil Haria, PhD is a Senior Software Engineer and Researcher with a strong background in distributed systems. He currently works at Google, where he is responsible for developing high-performance database systems. With substantial experience across the computing stack, Swapnil has a PhD in computer architecture and operating systems. Prior to joining Google, he worked as an ASIC engineer at NVIDIA, where he focused on low-level CPU verification. Swapnil's technical expertise has been recognized at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has received numerous awards, including the 2018-19 Lawrence H. Landweber NCR Fellowship in Distributed Systems and a 2014 Departmental Research Fellowship. He has also been awarded the University Gold Medal and the Best Graduating Student Award. In addition to his technical skills, Swapnil has a strong understanding of the business and ethical aspects of technology. He has pursued coursework in Business Strategy, Strategic Management of Technical Innovation, and Ancient Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout his student life, Swapnil has been an active leader in various student organizations. At Google, Swapnil is currently working on F1 Query, a high-performance distributed database. He has also worked on a high-performance distributed DRAM key-value store as part of the Networking Infrastructure group. Swapnil's technical skills include software engineering, research science, and infrastructure. Swapnil holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Sciences. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS Pilani. Swapnil attended Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School for his secondary education. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Swapnil is a highly skilled and knowledgeable software engineer and researcher.
